My true love has always been French sprinkled with a twist of modern. One day while sitting in my old glam home office, daydreaming about an office makeover, something told me to narrow down my decorating styles. The more I thought about having one theme to focus on, the more my heart pounded with excitement. Vintage French office decorating ideas kept popping up in my mind. I started researching French office decor ideas, along with vintage French furniture. I saw lots of gorgeous classical French style furniture and neoclassical pieces that were beyond expensive. But I remained hopeful that I would find some affordable pre loved pieces for my French office decor inspiration project. [/dropcap]

Home Office Furniture

My home office decor already included certain pieces such as, my sleek Apple desktop Mac computer, a glam lacquered desk, a credenza and a white tufted office chair. So I was basically working around those office fixtures when infusing my new French office decor ideas. At the time I wasn’t able to find any videos to help me with my French office decorating  ideas online. The light fixture was optional because I had a smaller Maria Theresa chandelier already installed. But after my office makeover, I had to upgrade to a larger size to balance the room. The new Maria Theresa Chandelier took forever to install, mostly due to all the Swarovski crystals on it, but it was worth it!

My office is still a work in progress, so deciding to have the French settee under the window or the console table is something I haven’t officially settled on as of yet. Office Drapery & Area Rugs

The drapery and the zebra print area rug had to be replaced because they had more of a modern glam look to them. I replaced them with a simple white silk infused wool rug (Click Here to see more) and some off white soft velvet drapery. I am thinking of maybe getting drapery with a pattern, because that would be the best look for this French themed office. The hunt for French fabric is on, for this 94 inch window. For now, I’m loving these off white drapes, priced under $60. Such a super cool deal for such excellent quality. Click here to see more!

French Walls & Molding

After brightening up my walls with flat white paint by Behr, to enhance the look I added vintage French molding. With zero experience at framing doors and hanging french molding, I jumped right in and purchased the baseboards, wall trim, crown molding as well as other ornate pieces. I framed out my closet door and added some chair rail and baseboards to step up this elegant masterpiece. Girl Power Right! Have you seen all the gorgeous antique French mirrors that are online lately! I chose this stunning this mirror from Ballard Designs for my French office decorating ideas.  It definitely makes the decor on that wall pop! This antique bronze mirror is heavy and excellent quality. I was torn between my gorgeous mirror and this other beautiful mirror I saw on Anthropologie. Click Here to view it. I opted for mine because the Anthropologie mirror seems to be super popular and I wanted more ornate features along the top of the mirror. However I did purchase this (click here) smaller size mirror for my bedroom.  See all of their mirrors Click Here. I’m currently loving the look of full length leaning mirrors. French Style Furniture

How lucky was I to find this gorgeous two leg French Provincial console table on craigslist for $200! It didn’t look like much in the ad, in fact it was a murky gray mop water color. However it had a smooth white with bronze marble top, which I absolutely loved!!! I refinished it antique gold and add some attachments to mount it to the wall. This French console table thrift flip, as well as all the other French style decor pieces, fit my French decor theme perfectly. Vintage French Bust Statues

From vintage French books to French bust statues, adding these French office decor accessories truly created a feeling of authenticity. No home office workspace is ever complete without some sort of decorative French statues and busts. I added Venus De Milo statue as well as Venus of Arles statue to my French themed office decor. The Marie Antoinette bust statue is one of my favorite French office decor ideas. Preowned Office Accessories

To continue with the color palette of my vintage French office decor theme, I kept the desk accessories white with subtle pops of antique gold. This gorgeous set of long neck birds were preowned. I found them while shopping online. They are so gorgeous and lightweight ceramic figurines created by Anthony Freeman McFarlin. Originally I saw them in white and fell in love but due to the price of these antique desk accessories I kept searching for a more affordable price.
